| Hi Tim, thanks for your comment, it was only a fast visit but somewhere I plan to visit again. Indeed this RHTT set in particular has been photographed at Nuneaton mostly, with some images of it at Rugby so I'd thought I'd have a go of it at the other end in a different environment to the norm. Seems to have worked well. Glad you like the photo mate, shall be in touch!!! :) |

| Nice photos from Wembley Yard. I didn't realise there were several 56s stored here. I thought there were only two or three although wagons have been in the way when I have passed there on the train a few times of late so I wouldn't really know what would be there, lol. | Thanks for looking at my website again. Wagons do block the locos either side, the cab of 56065 is just visible I think from passing trains along with a bit of 56117, they are sort of stuck right in the middle typically so asside from these, and a few my friend who was also there took, most probably the only ones around of the lot since their return. Meanwhile 56078/106, 58035 are sat at Dollands Moor awaiting transfer. Indeed many stored there, 13 in total and a waste of traction in my opinion. Anyway thanks for checking back and Im glad you like the photos, thanks again for your interest!!! :) |

| I've had a couple of looks at this collection now, Michael. I think I actually prefer it to the Immingham selection I was raving about. There's something a bit incongruous about rows and rows of 56s and 58s at Old Oak.
A lovely collection of shots - all "au naturel" by the looks of it without "shopping" in brighter liveries!! |

| Evening and thanks for taking a good look. It was indeed a sight to see, good in that the locos survive and aside from liveries take you back to the days where 66's were not on the network! :) What future for the locos I dont know, most of the 56's used on the Fertis contract are operational and sometimes are started to keep them going. OC is a depot which like IM is old and full of rarities but a depot which stands the test of time better than IM in the dgree of having a turntable and often heritage locos on site! Indeed no trickery done! All the best thanks for your comment and please look back again! Regards, Michael :) |

| Really lovely evocative set, Michael. Love truly wonderful shots and all the more distinctive and in period through being B&W. I particularly like the way you've captured the railway staff but the various shots of 80151 are akso favourites of mine. Only negative would be that a couple are slightly overexposed and need a tweak.

| Hi Craig, thats very much, was quite lucky considering the amount of stuff that almost blocked the photo, everything from an eight car stopping 450 service, a passing 444 and an eight car 450 unit entering the yard, all thankfully got out of the way. I'm aware this one ran early so I'll take a look at your shots, thanks for stopping by again mate :) |

| Well August has certainly been the month of the class 37's! :) Indeed 37518 does look very nice, a credit to those who have worked on it and bound to be popular at the BVR's October event. As for 37401 at Clapham, well that had to be done, a good driver as well, clagged the loco up the bank from Wansworth Town in the distance (could hear 37401 from quite a way away) then slowed the train right down to a crawl for photos, much appriciated that! :) Glad you like my photos and please pop by again soon, thanks! :) |

| Hi mate thanks for stopping by again, glad you like the new collection! :) The stock, errm well a bit of everything was used. I'm not a coaching fan but from memory MK2's and MK3's. From 47828/810 there was one Wessex pink MK2, followed by a good five or six Intercity MK3's, followed by two Blue Bullman MK2's, followed finally by two former First Great Western Green MK2's! one of which (other end of stock had just been given a clean over having sffered a graffiti attack). I hope that helps. Basically they could not have formed more of a mixed rake if they had tried to! Thanks, Michael |
|
|
|---|
| Thanks for that Michael. Kind of reminds of the time I saw 47790/802 at Headcorn working an ECS to a tour that took place the previous weekend. Stock inluded three Blue Pullman MK2s/MK2s, a DRS MK2, a few WCR MK2s/MK1s, two Intercity MK2s and a MK2 Pullman! Best Regards, CraigS. |

| Hi Craig, yes I remember a photo you took of that :P Quite similar really. No idea where the stock came from?? Oxley? I know both 47828/810 visited Barrow Hill, not sure if they collected the stock there, which might explain why it's a bit of a mixed rake! (Though I'm sure if you gave Old Oak Common a crack at mixing stock they'd come out on the top) :P Thanks, Michael. |

| Thanks for your comments mate, was well worth one final visit! Staff tried to organise an open event in 2007 or early 2008 but EWS didn't really want to know! Indeed both 50035, 47799 and 37308 did all attend, rather ironic do you not think! Yes the scraplines back then were very different, still just as sad now. I was at the Old Oak Common open day in 2000, have buried in the class sections some old photos from the day, I know 37906, 47306, 59002/103, 58021/050, 6008/042/016, 92035 do, mind you I was very young back then so the photos are not the best! I was lucky to visit from 2005 onwards which brought some sights, and some classic lineups. I plan to do a OC gallery, about 700 photos for that, more classic traction and heritage liveries than ever! :) Thanks once again for your comments, regards :) |

| Just been admiring your shots at Acton over the last three days, good selection of stone trains quite partial to them myself. On my days off i try to visit the Shottesbrooke area near maidenhead, Graham lee's favorite place as well . The shot of the 59 flanked by the two 60,s i especially like ,did you stay on the station for all those shots and what part of the day was it mid morning to late afternoon ?might have a go their later on for a different place myself Michael(blackjackmt) |

| Hello, Firstly thanks for your comments. I have seen your reports on gen groups and FMgen, I gather your on FMI :) So some very good reports from yourself. I did indeed stay on the station for these photos, I still managed a good variety of stuff thankfully. I visited on three days, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the latter two days being the busiest! I visited between the times of 10:30 and 15:30 and although you'd get an occasional quiet period, overall very busy. There were a few more trains than my collection shows (about three or four), though in a few cases, I'd simply been preoccupied or caught unaware, as from the Acton Mainline timetable, often you get a train running stupidly early. Or, just as I left one past, and on one day just as I arrived one passed, About 95% of the time trains are easy to identify working wise, traction sees good variety, great for photography, and good time to get a photo set up as you see stuff approaching well in advance, also trains often get stopped or enter/leave the yard slowly :) Only train I found a pain was 6Z71, which has a habit of running stupidly early and catches you off guard. Well worth a days visit, but I'd recommend a week there between 10:00-16:00 and you won't be disappointed. I hope that's enough help for you. Thanks for your comments once again! :) |

| This is the second photo of 60059 in the colledtion to be commented. Rather a popular loco! Can't wait to see it at the MNR gala again, thankfully despite it being stored, it and other celebs 60011 and 60061are on repairs at Toton, only good news that! :) Indeed best livery I think, suits most things. I really this year need to get the remaining 56's at both Ferrybridge and Thornaby in the guise, a challenge, but never the less! Glad you like the photo, hopefully more soon! :) All the best! :) |

| Evening mate, thanks for your comment. I've been waiting to gt 60059 in London for a while as in 2008 it visited London about once! So yes 60059, 60060, 60068 and 60072 was good. Only missed 60019 and 60061 which were both elsewhere. I've replied via your website comments, to you regarding the EWS 59 shortage! Take care :) |

| I hear this 'Tug' was on 6M20 again today. Just hope this machine sticks around London for a while longer. Should have 59206 back next week in it's new livery so the 59 shortage might improve. It looks pretty good from pictures I've seen of it. You might like to know, I've updated my site with a shot of a nice pair of blue diesels sitting in a part of Kent, but I'll let you look and find out ;-). Take care too, Craig S. |

| Don't jynx 60059! :P I plan to get a better shot of Transrail 60061, also in teh area next week. While I've cleared all the 60's, require about 25 or so for better photos,, seven of which are inside DMD, about 10 or so at Toton, and the rest in traffic. Of which 60019 and 60061 are two! So I'll be out next week. Also hoping to land 59206. I agree, looks smart, more classy than EWS. What pisses me off are the number of "same" photos on fotopic of the L/E move at either Toton or Chesterfield, people: get to other locations! I'm sure your like me, when I see it, it'll be working a freight doing it's job around it's classmates! Not 'posing or L/E' 59 shortage will leave EWS still without three...interesting! Shall take a looksie I do expect a pair of 37's! :) Thanks for your comment :) |

| Very nice shots from Acton Michael, shame about the lack of Tugs though. Still yet to get a decent shot of one of these AI liveried 59s. Looking at your shot of 66555 reminds me of when I was caught out by that working back in April 2007. Still, despite the lack of 60s, Acton still seems like a good place to visit when in London, especially on a day like you've today. Nice and colourful! Keep the photos coming mate. Regards, CraigS. |

| Evening. I require 66957 on the bins currently, missed that a while back on the same circuit! Shameful. 66555 has always been a loco photograph wise thats been tricky. Acton I'd recommend. 60096 was about somewhere not at Acton, 60060 worked through but I'm just sick of that loco every time I visit :P The AI 59's aren't the most common at Acton, I'd say the most common 59 has been 59204 by a mile! I look foward to when you grab one/both of them for photos! Acton is a good place though unusually a few workings were cancelled today due t various 'issues', still I'm hoping for Friday afternoon, ok I'm going for just 10-12 trains booked, but three/four booked for class 59's, so good chance at some pointeither this Friday or Wednesday getting 59202 and/or 59206 to work one! 7A09 and 7A17 are what I'm watching. I know Monday, when I work, 59206/101/202 were on 7A17, typically! Anyway all the best I plan to keep the photos coming still. Will be lots of different locations this year, not just Acton obviously :P Thanks for stopping by please do again soon! :) |

| Some nice shots from Acton/Ealing Broadway mate, like this one the best! Shame you had no sun for 60011, going by the light you had for 59201 on 6V18, the shot of the Tug would've been great had the sun been out. Ta about the Colas 47/56 steel job info through Acton. When you say Acton at 1:00-17:30 on STP workings, does that mean it could pass Acton between them times? I hear 66717 is attending the NVR diesel gala. That is one of my 'Pet GB' locos, chances of me seeing that one is very high, good job I'm not attending the gala, then again, I am missing out on possible haulage from the DRS 37, getting photos of the 27 and also of 37518 in RF Red Stripe. Ah well. I've updated my site with shots of 73136 working the spoil trains on the Bluebell, and hope to be out for it on the passenger run tomorrow. No doubt these will add fuel to the ED vs Steam engine debate. I look forward to your NVR shots and any others from the coming weeks! Best Regards, CraigS. |

| The sun was a pain, teh photo of 60011 had to be lightened hence a bit of grain :( It isbooked to pass Acton around 17:00-17:30 however last Thursday was caped. its a ThO working as well. 66717 was going to attend not now though, 66732 L/E to PB then onto the NVR! Thankfully as 732 is required :) ...indeed rather a sin missing the 37's...and 66732! Ah well, when you get this message you'll kick yourself and wish that 66717 hadn't stuck about in Whitemoor! Good luck with 73136 at the Bluebell, look foward to that 'debate' again soon. Shall have a look over at your website now.
By the way, 60011 I recon my attempts when it worked 6M20 are the best! Though I'm going to get some more opportunities next week so I'm honestly going to see how many times I can grab 60011! Three times so far in London (Once at Toton a while back but that doesn't count) So maybe I can make it six times next week :P More sun, more 60's and a better shot of DB 59206 are planned! YAY! :D

| Good luck with that! Definitely going to have to be an evening in London once the clocks change for this new steel working to Dollands Moor. No good for it nearer to me though which is a shame. | Thanks mate I'm glad you liked the photo, I was actually glad 37688 was leading, wasn't overly fussed this time around anyway. I'm also glad that the train due to it now doesn't stop at Latchmere for 15-20mins it runs 20-30minsearly into Kensington Olympia and slows to a crawl due to getting a red signal which is nice for photos! Still can't wait for some brighter weather sooner or later. Was nice to get the Colas 47 on 6Z48 as well, indeed more photos to come and stop by again soon :) |

| Some very nice shots here mate, I really like this one. 50035 looks superb in Loadhaul livery as 50135. Where's the shots of all the steam locos? Am Dissapointed! ;-) Nice to see you got the vast majority of your shots in lovely sunshine, typically as soon as I entered the works clouds hovered above and as soon as I left, they left too! Still it's back which is the main thing. I loved the new guise on 50135! As for expresso machines, why photograph them at the works when you have a teamaker at home :P Regarding the sun I was lucky for a change, I feel a tad sorry for you weather wise but not overly as you've had 6M95 in the sun far too many times while I've had it in the dull before so it balanves out! :) All the best I'll check your photos out in a min! BR Blue 37109 at Bury with a service from Rawtenstall, this 37 was a former regular for me in London in the EWS guise Class 37 Day At The ELR |
|
|

| Some great photos here mate, especially this one! 37109 looks absolutley great in BR Blue and with matching coaches. Remember seeing this a lot when it was with EWS as well, mainly when it was stored at Hither Green with 37047. Looks like it was a great event with great weather. Really like the 'Sod Off' branded road cone! Wish I could've been there. The ELR is on my list of railways to visit. Craig. |

| Hi mate, indeed a good event, the weather was good and a railway I'd recommend to visit. EW&S 37418 for me stole the show, remember it at Newport in 2002, abit not all sparkly as now! 37109 was another London regular, for you as well, mind you I also remember 37372 being a regular as well, very common for me, always saw that one, and it too is still with us. I do prefer 37109 in EW&S livery, how I remember it but does look smart in BR Blue that I can admitt, perhaps the black headcodes add to that. Indeed visit the railway. A Virgin service to Mancester Piccadilly, then the Metrolink to Bury, then a 5min walk from there, easy as pie! If the Metrolink has engineers just outside the station a free bus will take you to the nearest Metrolink stop and the Metro take you to Bury, very frequent service too! All the best...again... :) |

It was a shame, the camera needed about another 5 seconds thats all, it rebooted the camera as well so had two attempts at getting that 'perfect shot' still not to be! Glad I got 58007 though! Glad you like the shots I got, hopefully more 58 convoys in due course to get that 'proper shot' The disposables had seen abour 2hr 30mins charge as well for 10 seconds is bad, so they got binned and I'm armed with 28 Duresells! Indeed I really like the shot as well, the 56 does look great, really do think Large Logo Blue is one of the best liveries on the 56, very close to Loadhaul! Prior to this I had a photo of 56086 in Transrail at Immingham stored with other 56's, little did I think I'd be seeing it so soon (same goes for 56101 and 56114 actually) The weather was super, both the Saturday in Crewe and Sunday at The Battlefield Railway! So a good weekend! As for 31130 being 31276, no idea, was like so on both sides, I have noticed from photos that as far back as Friday 1th September this was NOT done, so it's very recent, and unexplained, maybe to make something a bit 'different; for the event??? I could have got a shot of it at Richmond, but, a five minute turn around time and, trying to get a clear shot of 73213 just would not have left me with enough time to run up the platform, run all the way back down and round and up to my coach. Still, I have got many shots of 1001, helped by living 10 minutes from it! Yes, our tour did have an interesting definition of centre road. I expect it went into the down platform so one of the GB guys could get down onto the track in safety. Keep the photos coming mate, I hope to do the same... lol. Craig. |

| Well, your in some shot, the main point, thus I rest my case :P I knew you'd want that type of photo! Shame about the small turn around timings for the train, regarding centre road makes sense for H&S reasons I suppose. Sundays tour well, ill fated, mind you I bet GBRF will do a Sunday 'route rerun' maybe back to the old route or revised Sunday route, and maybe run the tour on a Saturday! I'll keep the photos coming no worries, as you best do to! Check back soon! :) |

Considering how many times the locos change ends and that a few swaps have occured, and that they don't always use that back line at the station, made it much better really. As your photo is the only other similar shot I've seen of 3S10 at Carlisle! :) Glad you like the photos, more to come obviously, all in good time :) MW |

It's like 37's in Pres, how many Blue 37/0's do we have and how many 37/5's and 37/7's do we have, about time some of those recently put to tender get saved and some old rotten 37/0 used for parts! :P Good luck with asking NR to do that with their 31's :P MW |

I did see somewhere a pair of 97's (well basically NR 37's) were supposed to have run down for a loco swap for two days, no idea why. With the DRS pair back on the train on Sat. However it would seem that as no 97's came down, it's runs over the next two days *may* not run, and the train with thw to DRS examples be out just Sat. Not 100% though so don't quote me on that. BR Blue 37109 ELR Tribute To The Class 37's |
|
|
|---|
| Hi mate, finally got round to having a better look at this collection and you have some great and interesting shots, this one is one of my favourites. Quite liked the older shots too, namely the EPS 37s, the 37 + 58 + 37 combo. Strange looking at some shots too, like the one of stored ML 37248 and many of the 37s that are now in use with DRS and WCR, as well as ones which are now preserved. If only DRS kept the front that 37610 (and all /6s for that matter!) had, as seen in your shot of it at Barrow Hill. Once again, great collection, keep the photos coming. After a couple of weeks of barely any updates, I've updated my site 3 times recently, with some 47s, Steam engines, Colas 66842 and when I update later on, 313108 in Sussex! Craig :-) |

It is funny looking back at engines which are in different guises now, also sad to see engines which were once so mightly, now worse than they are seen photographed. Glad to have got most Bits. 37893 got Preserved to hope to have that for a shot soon to add. Hope 37428 gets saved too! Next year got 37407/424/152/116/219/679 to catch. This weekend hope for one or two DB Schenker liveried examples if I'm lucky! Likewise some of the DRS examples in the 'Compass' scee to be added. Next Springs update though will be the best. GIF 37's in Spain - and operational! :) Memories. Thanks for your comment please check by again on Saturday evening. I hope to have a few new collections shortly! Freightliner 70005 with 70002 bask in the frosty morning sun A Blast From The 70's At Crewe Basford Hall |

| Finally getting round to commenting! Nice selection of shots here mate, like this one of the 70s under dark skies, the froted 70005 shot and the ones of the 86s. Nice to see them still around. Don't see or phot many of them myself so that's one aim for 2010. Havn't yet seen a 70 yet either, though I'm in no rush too. I've replied to your recent comment on my site, although I will repeat part of it hear about those DRS 20s. Surely they didn't get to Clapham after 1pm? I photted them throrugh Rye at around 1216 and from the information I got from the various gen messages, it pretty much ran on time all day, except the odd 5-10 minutes or two here and there. Keep the photos coming, look forward to future updates. Happy New Year! Craig. |

Different to the sodding 37/0's :P I'll be honest though I'd have loved 37152 to get a new coat of Intercity. You never know...maybe one day! Glad you like the photos anyway. Had Peak Rail to myself, literally! My father and a friend I was with found someone who just let us round so nice really. Chaddesden Yard was fine as well, typically as we were leaving 66305 arrived so work a quick shot. I thoughtyou got 37118 from your last visit to Peak Rail?? Ah well, always another time :) MW |

| Yes, a RR 37/4 would be nice. Apparently 37421 is to return to the mainline carrying the livery IIRC. I was hoping 37152 would get another coat of IC too, at least the RF Red Stripe is just as good I guess. I didn't get a proper shot of 37188, it's just visable in a shot I got of 47635. |

Regarding 37152 don't get me wrong looks great, though I always though Railfreight Red Stripe suited refurbs and heavyweights more ala 37518 etc! Intercity on 37152 would have been nice. Mind you WCRC have 37685...hope they keep it in Intercity to! Shall find that shot of 47635 to find 37188 hiding :P She's got a long way to go before running again! Mind you poor 37077 is chopped up, 37684 next to be followed by tube stock and then poor 37698! Loadhaul froth that! shame.... |
|
|
|---|
| Personally I kind of prefer the Railfreight Grey without red stripe rather than with stripe when on 37s. It would be nice if 37685 returned in IC, and WCR haven't said no to it either AFAIK! Hmm, how will everyone cope when Loadhaul 37698 gets scrapped? lol. |

Shame to see it go though. Can't quite see why 37679 got saved and 37698 wasn't, no logic there but some have to go I suppose... |

DRS 'Compass' 37601 with 37608 this time seen at Newcastle The Cumbrian Crusader Railtour |
|
|
|---|
| A nice selection of shots here mate. Nice to see a variety of traction and different liveries considering you were actually a railtour for most of the day. Looked like a cracking tour. Shame you got 37608 instead of 37667 although seeing as 37608 was said to have not worked much passenger workings (think that's what you said?), then I guess some would have been happy with the swap (namely some 37 bashers?) Have replied to your latest comment on my site. Won't repeat much here although what I will say is thanks for the Crewe trip offer. I should be heading to the Glous Warks with a mate for their diesel gala on that day so can't make it. Perhaps another time. Thanks again anyway, much appreciated! Look forward to more photos. Believe a the same pair of 31s that come down to Ashford/Tonbridge on 1Q14 on Thurs also visit some SWT metals later in the afternoon/evening? One for you perhaps? Take care! Craig. |

Decent traction please! :) Indeed 37688 had a long sell down your way, however that was (and heres a clue why) BEFORE it got a certain guise :P After a repaint it's not allowed south of Crewe when your not busy :P Such are DRS these days... ;) MW |

Wednesdays seems to be the favoured day for L/E's from Kingmoor to Sellafield noted in the past! Also spotted 37604 with status T so thats Carlisle bound! Could have done with moving 66545 up to 66619 and also 66522's Shanks Lime Green end would have been on display too! Pet fred! my lords! That one as well! I dont know these days. Mind you that said 66502/510/522/623 are watched with egal eyes... ;) Yes half of the class 86 fleet were present on the day! - The most I've seen on a visit, one up on the numerous occasions of 7 or 8 being present so the record of 9 has been set. The latter a few months back wasassigned a repaint into Freightliner Green however it was at the tme required so was tken back into use before any repaint could be done. Never the less I'd expect both of these two to go Freightliner Green this year so get them while you can. 4M74 is always booked for a pair of Freightliner 86's and passes the station at 16:50! | Hi mate glad you like them! :D It would be nice if this does get 37 haulage just not next Sat when I'm in Norwich or if it has to, the same pair or a pair I'm not fussed over! :P Though it went via Barnes this time due to Mitre Bridge being shut for engineers works! If the line was open weather it would go this route which 6M34 also does is anyones guess. If not it would mean for me either Kensington Olympia in cloudy weather or your way in sun! Mitre Bridge should see moe engineers works over the next few weeks so if this can produce solid class 37's it will be nice :) It would seem it's all part of DRS giving up 10 66's when their lease goes (not shortly but not a long way away either!) What with 37'son this and 57'son intermodal workings! :) Point 2 - It does NOT go via Barnes Bridge, it turns off and heads off towards Acton Wells. On SWT metals its Barnes where the train changes route. The junction just the other side of the station and infront of the 37's in my photo! :P Barnes is a great place for freight! As a general so if your my way and want something let me know and will join you there glad you like myself like the location. At Clapham it on the Windsor lines, so pops up at platform 5/6, which of these it takes is anyones guess! Normally 5 however don't bet on it! Clapham is too cluttered, no room and too much to get in the way of this train hence Barnes was chosen. Wandsworth Town is ok but freight goes through there at a pace! I hope that helps and I will keep them coming! MW |
|
|
|---|
| I agree with you about if it does run with 37s again next Sat then either the same pair or a non-fussed pair. I believe previous 6Z70s have gone via Olympia, due their 1220 I think, so would assume it would've gone that had there been no engineering works on that line. Surely it would go through Barnes Bridge though? The time say Barnes, then New Kew Junc, then Kew East Junc. Looking at this on a rail atlas of mine, to get from Barnes and use New Kew Junc to access the Acton Wells line it would've come off at Barnes Junction (the one infront of the 37s as pictured) and through Barnes Bridge. Will let you know when I plan to go there next. I've done Wandsworth Town before, quite a nice spot providing stuff goes through platform 5 at Clapham. Thanks for the info. |

| Indeed, I think Mitre Bridge is shut for the next few weekends which is nice should 6Z70 run it sticks it well for photos. If it runs by Kensington Olympia in future in clouds worth a photo but useless in sun so I'd come your way to Sheerness for it early one morning for the shunting etc :) I hope it continues to work it's revised route though. It does not pass through Barnes Brigde, that goes the OTHER way on the spur. That I can assure you. I've seen piccies at Wandsworth Town and they are not great, light is ok as is length of the train BUT signals get in the way to the left of the photo so you need to take it on zoom which isn't as nice an effect as at Barnes where it all just seems to piece together. Indeed let me know when your down this way and likwise if I'm in Kent on 'DRS 37' business I'll let you know! MW |

Thought I'm not 110% as 37667 took the train to Hitchin, think train reverses into siding there so a runround should have 37510 back to Sheerness and then 37667 on the front tomorrow for the return. The worse one was 37605 but I could have got a better shot of that had I required. However 37261 was the engine I was directly after of he three stored ones anyway so I was quite happy with my result. The RES gronk has only just arrived at Didcot, it spent a lot of time at Toton. It was last at Didcot in early 2002! Which, typically in 2002 I photographed there along with the likes of 37203, 37372, 58047 (dodgy photo!) 58042, 58043, 58049 and 58024 (good piccies) :) along with POLICE 47829, Virgin 47854 and a Poterbrook 57601! Lord doesn't that date it! :P No digital camera back then and at age 13 not the best photographer of the bunch. Looking back I could have had some cracking 58 and 37 and 60 shots from there, if I was even just 19-20 at the time a train down to Didcot from London for a whole host of 37, 58 and 60 action! :( Can't turn back the clock. | Beast of a loco and a good set of shots here mate. Paddington was better though as two steam locos were there, one of which I hadn't seen before, rather than just the one at Euston, which I've seen many times now (including just the week before as you know) and should be out photting it again on numerous occassions over the coming weeks! | Euston had the same number of locos! 67016 brought the train in :P then again your charter had an ECS loco, so thats 3, plus three on the beds. So I make that sx. Euston had 60163, 67016, a stabled Virgin thunderbird, 90026 on one sleeper tailed by 66037, then as I said, the other sleeper soon came in and blocked Tornado, so thats six :P You've seen that froth kettle more than me :P pft...Im sure...lol....I can match that with some locos though! Ta for comment on 56312, I was thinking maybe 56311 would work it but it seems 56312 is all too common on charters unlike 56311! lol! MW |
|
|
|---|
| Yeah, but how many DECENT locos did Paddington and Euston have? :P Paddington had three, the two steam locos and the WCR ECS loco which was 37706 (mind you, never saw it) and I guess the three 57s can be classed as decent. But, the six you had is still impressive, despite a few not being decent, especially considering that Euston is largle units only now. And it's not everyday you see a shed on the sleeper stock, is it? I thought the same regarding the Grid tour. About time 56311 comes out again. I think when tours are advertised as 56, it should actually read 56312! Still, the same Grid as to be better than no Grid in my opinion. |

I have photos of 57301/303/311/312 all before that horrible coupling, sadly all photos taken on a film camera, never a digital shot! Yes 56 wise I tend to agree, but 56312 has literally been on EVERY railtour, 56311 is operational, how about using that one instead! MW |

| Another nice and interesting set of shots here mate. Ta for the password. Looking through them, I get the impression that it was like an open day all to yourself, with most of the locos in good positions for photos. Starting to get, but only a wee bit, envious of all these 37688 in Compass livery shots. I hope you asked DRS to let it out and down to Kent for me? |

| It was, though open days have more locos, a few moved for photos, and for example expect 37688 to be sat bot behind a fence when the open day comes! Likewise 37606 and 20306 will be shoved further over and the Fastline 66's tucked round the back hidden, well, maybe one out on display. Generally though I was impressed. Look foward to doing it again :P Oh, as for 37688, I would not fear, more to come no doubt! ;) DRS don't want it in Kent, it's their depot pet so doesnt really wish to venture south :P Glad photos were liked from here :) Will unlock in due time...one day...lol |
|
|
|---|
| Oh yes, 37688 behind a fence at an open day. Yes, reckon that will be in order if I manage to do the Crewe GB event in July. I can understand if DRS didn't want their 'depot pet' to leave Kingmoor, seeing as it's named after them, but the thing is sat at Gresty Bridge! |

| If you don't, I'll link a few photos over :P I reckon she'll be parked mroe favourably come the open event. Should I visit GB again beforehand, I'll do so in the afternoon so the sun is round the other side... :P Yes true, it's at Crewe..but but...that is nearer than Dungeness :P It did work down ONCE after its 'Compass' repaint, though I failed to grab a decent photo while you failed to be bothered - not thinking that said loco would suddenly be rather a pain! :P No 0Z30 to EH today (Tues) Hope that Wed early AM they send a loco down, now, 37218 and 37601 are the only 37's at Gresty Bridge on 'N' status, lets hope they pick wisely :P Your as safe as ever regarding 37604, at Springburn on exam, of all places! lol! ...anyway...June is here, as is, in theory the summer, best of luck in our challenge :P MW |

| A very nice set of shots here mate, very nice indeed. Nice shots also of the 73s at Waterloo and the Freightliner stuff at Basford Hall. I like these ones of 37425, the convoy and that reflection shot. You got it right about the DBS 66s, being the dullest loco of all. Even the 08 that can just be seen in the railway centre in the background is more interesting than the shed! Pity the damn things got in the way of the convoy too. Keep the photos coming mate! Can I expect any anytime soon? |

| Barbie 73's at Waterloo had to be good, best pair really to ask for on a test train those. 37425 was asalways a bonus, and very welcomed hence a few photos of it. Indeed the DBS 66 is dull, the livery on it is very uninspiring as well, just drab all over. I'm amazed DBS havent repainted about 19 others, all you need are two electrics and 20 66's (including 66152) and maybe another 59 to join 59206, and you'll have a lot of engines all over the place doing DBSchenker much more good advertising wise, unlike now. Still they penny pinch unlike the other FOC's so what can you expect some times eh? :P More photos, yes you can expect them. Colas froth tomorrow (Friday) before work :) Saturday maybe more stuff from the blue team fingers crossed :P Thanks, and shall be back over to your gallery to comment soon :) MW |

| Nice set of shots mate. You must feel a tad better seeing as now you've only got the one 'Compass' 37 to get compared to me with my 3? ;-) Shame Freightliner couldn't have repainted the whole of the front on 86501 although I guess it will receive the 'Powerhaul' livery in due course. |

| Another nice set of shots here mate, as goes for the 73s/stuff at Stratford. When was the last time four heritage diesels visited Waterloo on the same day? I quite like this one, nice and sunny despite being under a roof! I reckon 37409 won't do a 37688 and avoid me though. I believe I have a better chance of seing 37409 than I do 37688 at the moment. ;-) Strange to think that the green saloon was once a buffet car in one of the class 203 'Hastings' DEMUs! I reckon 37409 will do a 37688 for a while, at least untill Crewe Gresty Bridge anyway. That saloon was a buffet car? Really? Much better use of it TBH as it is now :P MW |

| Nice shots mate as usual. Quite a nice livery on the 86, except for the front which looks a bit odd imo. No doubt something for myself to aim for at some point, although I expect it would ages to capture like with most 'requirements'. Btw, got something in the post today. Envelope with a red compass logo and an address of a certain Carlisle based railfreight firm on ;-) So yeah, I got me ticket for the Crewe GB event :-) Craig. |
